Casual Workers

As a member of Women's Transition Home staff, Casual Workers will fill in for staff on leave or training. Future opportunities may be available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support in a cross-cultural setting to women and children who have experienced violence and/or abuse

• Maintain safety and security

• Respond to women in crisis in person and over the telephone

• Assist with the efficient operation of a 24-hour facility

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Combination of experience and post secondary education in a related field

• Knowledge of violence against women and issues facing women who have experienced violence and/or abuse

• Knowledge of resources available to women

• Experience working in a cross-cultural setting and a knowledge/sensitivity to the needs of Indigenous women and their children

• Satisfactory current criminal record check

• Knowledge of Response Base Practice an asset
